16. Another short hike brings the students to the Lake of the Sky Trail amphitheatre where they get information on the challenges and successes of the management team.

17. The next hike includes the Profile Stream Chamber (an underground aquarium where we couldn’t take pictures). After lunch the students head off to a special treat. It doesn’t happen often, but this year the students were able to spend some time in the snow. Sleds and other “traveling” equipment were available and they had a great time. Some of the students had never seen real snow before.

18. Legionnaire and Auxiliary member (D18) Julie Potter and FS staff Amy take aim at the camera operator, apparently having more fun than the students.

19. Start up the hill to Pyramid Creek. A vertical climb of approximately 600 feet. The peak is at 6000 feet and the view is magnificent. Some of the students had to challenge themselves to finish the climb – but they did!!

20. Saturday night the students viewed a new film telling the story of the first 100 years of the Forest Service. Since the film is quite long the students were served popcorn and lemonade during intermission
