Fifth Area Commanders Message:
Hello Comrades,
What a fantastic year it is being 5th Area Vice Commander. The hospitality and the respect of the office is so rewarding. Being invited to American Legion Programs that some of the Post are participating in and watching the way the American Legion Family works together to make an activity come to be is just the greatest.
Now is the time where we must really start working the hardest in the year 2007-2008. It is the third lap of a mile run, the start of the fourth quarter, the 10th hole of the back 18 and your putting could win the game, the 6th 7th and 8th inning, and it is time to start pushing harder on membership and completing our programs.
It is always the right time to say thanks. First I’d like to say thanks to Fontana Post 262 for their support, the 25th District for voting me in, the 5th Area District Commanders for all their hard work, and all the Post in the 5th Area for working as hard as they do for the American Legion. Also a big thanks to the American Legion Family for supporting our Veterans who served our country and especially to the soldiers who are now protecting our country and to the Families of our Soldiers. Before I get in trouble I really want to say thanks to my wife Esther (my everything) for all her help and support and to my family.
We are really going to have to get the reports made out and sent in to help get our veterans, past and present, get the benefits they really deserve for protecting and serving our country. I want to emphasize the IMPORTANCE of getting the reports completed and sent in.
It is great to see all the four parts of the American Legion Family -- the Legionnaires, American Legion Auxiliary, Son’s of the American Legion, and the Legion Riders all working hard to make this year a big success.

God Bless all our soldiers protecting our country, God Bless their families, and God Bless America.

If I can be of any service, please feel free to contact me: (909) 627-6538

For God and Country... Joseph A. Garcia, 5th Area Vice Commander
