Articles of Interest:
January 12, 2006 In a recent visit to Yountville, We had the opportunity to visit with Dean Harper. Dean is doing well and was planning to visit his family in Las Vegas during the Christmas and New Year's. We asked if there was anything he needed, or wanted and to our surprise his only request was that he receive some mail.
His family forwards items to him but it usually gets there much too late for him to be current with what is going on with his beloved Legion. Would those of you who are in positions to update, or add Dean's address to your mailing lists please do so. If he is not on your list please add him to your newsletters, events calendar, etc. He will really appreciate it!
We all remember how it hurt to be at "mail call!" and be one of the few to receive no mail. Also, we remember the feeling of being special when we did get that mail; no matter how small the item may seem to us. Your assistance will help a Veteran who has given so much to the Legion family! Respectfully submitted... Michael L. Bloom, 28th District Adjutant top |
