After the fourth Area 1 Meeting

What does the Area Commander do after the fourth Area Meeting ?

Well, in the Case of the Vice Commander Representing Area 1 last quarter, Court Bradbury, the tasks included being installed at his home Post 84 Auburn, as well as installing the officers at Posts in Area 1 who were elected for the 2006-2007 year.

Then there is the Department Convention
 Department Convention
This year, the convention was held in Fresno.
There is an old expression, "The King is dead. Long live the King."
I can relate this expression to the American Legion Department Convention.

Outgoing Department Commander Wayne Parrish congratulates and welcomes new Commander Charlie M. Eskridge

Outgoing Department Commander Wayne Parrish congratulates and welcomes new Commander Charlie M. Eskridge to the lectern.    As Out-Going Commander Wayne Parrish removes his white hat, and dons the traditional blue cap of the American Legion, so to do all of the out-going officers, including the Past Area 1 Vice Commander, Court Bradbury.

Court Bradbury removed his white cap and donned his blue-white cap

As was noted above, "The King is dead. Long live the King." The similarity is that Area 1 was not without a leader, for even a heartbeat, for as Court Bradbury removed his white cap and donned his blue/white cap, the new Vice Commander Representing Area 1 removed his blue/white cap and donned the white cap, of an Area Vice Commander.

Welcome Robert A. Canclini, and thank you Court Bradbury, for a superb job this past year, it was a true pleasure working for you.
