The melodic rhythm of the waves gently rolling on to shore make swishing sounds- unceasing and constant.

The magic of the lake radiates and, instantaneously, one feels a sense of peace and tranquility. The colored stones at the bottom of the lake are visible because of the amazing clarity (visible to almost 67 feet), and sparkle like precious rubies, emeralds and sapphires.

The snow-capped mountains enclose this precious and wonderous gem of nature, as though to protect and preserve it. Looking across the landscape, the closer one looks towards the horizon, the deeper the shade of blue and, just below the horizon, the color of the lake is almost purple-violet. The majesty and calmness of the lake seems to draw all types of life.

A pair of ducks, a male and a female, venture on to the beachy shoreline, and then ride the waves of the lake. The trees seem to be attracted to the lake also, as they grow closely and lean in to the lake. Sail boats are bobbing in the deeper parts of the lake.

The sparkling miracle of nature is truly a place wonders.

It was so beautiful that, for just one second, you would think it wasn’t real. The pureness of the water was so amazing- I have never seen anything like it. The way the rock shines underneath the slippery surface would make you want to stay sitting in the sand for five more minutes, when you realize- why not for another day, week or even for the rest of your life. Though you’d love for other people to see it, you just want to take it home.

Multi-colored rocks, a mountain view with boats. It was like a dream. I had sunken in a dream. The little waves in front of me looking playful, and smell of sweet trees.

Nothing would go wrong.

Life is like waves crashing on the shore. You, as a person, are the shore. The waves are the decisions, the challenges, and the problems crashing upon you. The shore is always changing, losing something, gaining something.

As people we may fail at things, but just as the shore, we gain from each one as well, whether it is knowledge, insight, or experience. Life was meant to be lived, not fretted away in the fear of death.

Learn from your mistakes, and take risks. You can only gain from it.

“RELENTLESSLY CRAVING”

Relentless craving; the lake holds no breath, no desire, no satisfaction, restless.

I feel a kinship with this water, inchoate, though filled, and knock-kneed we see the whispering crash of the tide.

And a vast land of water- shifting and uncontrolled- like the sky, and like the breeze,

But contained.

Thoughts like fire burn into my mind, and then turn up to the clear blue sky;

With no worries of being shy.
A quiet shout to the sun in which all enemies are undone.

A lazy breeze, it passes and I freeze.

I bend down to the earth, and see a new birth;

Because for all the thoughts of fire and pollution, I have a solution.

I will apply, and not deny. The earth shouts and cries and sad goodbyes.

To the beauty we know, so get ready to go.

I am so incredibly grateful for the knowledge, standards and rules I have in my life that allow me to feel this peace, this “all is well” when I am alone I would be ashamed to be here with purity if I, myself, were not pure.

It is so interesting when the waves swell, they magnify one strip of the rocks at a time. It allows me to see the rocks differently. Sometimes there appears to be a dimple on the water and it is the amazing green of a glass bottle.

I have the inner harmony we talked about.

Just listen. You don’t really get to do that very often. Just to sit down, close your eyes, relax, and listen. The serene chirping of the birds, the movement in the underbrush, peacefulness.

Have you ever looked up? Stood in a clearing and looked up at all the tree branches meld together and the filtered light that flows through. It’s beautiful. We never really remember to look up. We get so bogged down with things to come that we just look straight ahead, or even down. It’s times like these where we need to look up. Just take a moment, maybe find a shady tree and just look up. See all the birds flying free, no care in the world.

At times when you’re sad or depressed, just look up and know that there is good in the world, and that with a positive attitude things will change. Sadness is not permanent, it’s a mentality. Anyone can overcome it. Life is meant to be enjoyed. There’s no point to it if you don’t enjoy what you’ve been given. Take advantage of opportunities given to you. You never know where they might lead.
