    George R. Williams
    Mayfair Post 791, San Jose

It is with regret that the 13th District officers pass on the news that George Williams, 2nd Vice Commander 13th District, Past Commander Post 791, President of Outpost 13 of the Past Commanders Club, and numerous other titles and responsibilities of both the American Legion and the VFW organizational families, has succumbed to his bout with cancer, and entered Post Everlasting on this date, April 23, 2006. George had not yet seen 60 years of life.

George returned home just two weeks ago knowing his situation after having an examination at the University of California Medical Center in San Francisco. George was referred there by his doctors here in Santa Clara as a "last" hope possibility for a liver transplant. It appears too many residual complications and other medical issues made that option nonviable.

More information will be shared ASAP following knowledge of arrangements and wishes of George's family.
