The Department of California By-Laws, Trial Manual, and Parliamentary Procedures Manual are all available on this Department Website. Both the By-Laws and Trial Manual have recently changed so please download them for your reference. Links are provided below for your convenience.
For those Posts who operate a Veterans’ Club or Lounge please become familiar with California’s Alcohol Beverage Control Laws. Many problems can be avoided by becoming familiar with the requirements and privileges provided to Veterans’ Clubs under California’s Business & Professions Code.
My comrades, times have changed and many of the activities that we have conducted and taken for granted over the years are not legal. If you have any questions please contact me or your local ABC Office.

| A CALL TO DUTY
ATTENTION LEGIONNAIRE ATTORNEYS

The Department of California and American Legion Posts throughout California have to deal with occasional legal issues. In an effort at “Mutual Helpfulness” I am seeking Legionnaires who are attorneys licensed to practice in California to become part of the Judge Advocate’s Advisory Council.
Council members are composed of attorneys of various areas of legal expertise who are willing to assist the Department and California Posts, Pro Bono, to deal with various legal issues that arise throughout the year. Actual costs will be borne by the Department or Post being assisted.
