| Current Message Can you believe that it is 2008, where did the time go? The Holiday’s are in the past and now is the time that we get “In Action to Honor and Serve” our Veterans, and Hero’s. We do not want to forget those that gave so much for us and our Country, because without them our freedom would be lost.
January is our Legislative month, and this would be a perfect time to write, call or e-mail our Congressmen and Senators, letting them know where we stand on the Flag Alliance, we only missed getting it put into law by a small margin. If all members in the State of California would flood their Offices, our voices would be heard.
February is Americanism month; fly our beautiful flag, letting our neighbors know that we are proud to be an American. Sign up that Veteran and wife for membership so they to will know that we are a Veterans organization and have many programs that not only help the Veteran but their families.
Community Service month is March, look at your Unit and see what you can do in the Community, take a food basket to a shut in, work the blood banks, go to the Library or nursing home and read to the Children and Elderly. If you have a Veterans Home in your area visit the home and listen to the Veteran, they love talking about their time in service and they appreciate visitors, many of them do not have families and they do get lonely.
Our members in California are wonderful ladies and I look forward to visiting the balance of the Districts this year. It is very rewarding to visit and to see first hand all the wonderful things the Units are doing. Keep up the good work for membership. God Bless each of you.
