View My Photo Album - hosted by  The “Teamin” 23rd District hosted a gala evening in honor of National Commander, Paul Morin, on Wednesday, December 20, 2006, at Jackie Robinson Post 252 in Los Angeles. National Commander Morin was accompanied by his personal Aide Mark Avis; NEC Man Jim Hackney and wife Ruth; Dept. Commander, Charles Eskridge and wife Rosie; Area 2 Vice Commander Michael Bloom; and Dept Sgt-at-Arms Walter Waite; Also attending from Department was Chaplain R. T. Lee and wife Madeline; and Area 4 Vice Commander Woodrow Baca and wife, Sheryl.
The evening started at 5:00 pm with a cocktail social. Jackie Robinson Post 252 Color Guard under the leadership of Comrade Major Stewart posted the Colors assisted by acting District Sgt-at-Arms, General Marvin Levy. Chaplain Milton Herring, Lt. Col, U.S. Army Reserve delivered the benediction. The Program proceeded with opening remarks by 23rd District Commander, Charles “Chuck” Leonard and Mistress of Ceremony, our District’s 1st Vice Commander, Patricia Jackson-Kelley. | 
Following dinner, National Commander Morin was entertained by the “Chappie James Dancers” from Chappie James Post 578 also of the “Teamin” 23rd District. Several presentations of citations and gifts were made to the National Commander and he in turn presented his personally autographed 8 X 10 color photograph to each one. District Commander, Rees Lloyd, from the 21st District, presented National Commander Morin with a statue replica of the veteran’s memorial at Riverside Cemetery.

We were privileged to have with us two members of the Greater Los Angeles Area Chapter, Ninth and Tenth (Horse) Calvary Association of the Buffalo Soldiers, Trooper Rev. Eugene Lewis and Trooper Ronald Jones. Trooper Lewis is 90 years young.

Following the scheduled program, it was time to party. Pat Jackson-Kelley, who loves get her exercise by dancing, got a real good workout on the dance floor with Commander Morin.
Also slipping into his dancing shoes to my surprise was Commander Eskridge...
