Our Mission To energize our community and coordinate an event to honor local members of the
U.S. Armed Forces, National Guard and Reserves, along with their families, on
Armed Forces Day, Saturday, May 21, 2005.
Objectives
- To recognize an present awards of appreciation to local military members and their families
- To publicly acknowledge hometown businesses who excel in supporting troops
- To raise public awareness and funds for the American Legion's Legacy Scholarship Fund
- To promote Blue Star Service Banners/Flags and educate the public of their significance

Complete American Legacy Scholarship Fund kits are available for immediate delivery to posts participating in the 2005 Blue Star Salute – An Armed Forces Day Celebration. The Legacy Cards are to be “sold” by local retailers for a $1.00 or more donation. All proceeds will go to The American Legacy Scholarship Fund. The Legacy Card kits provide complete instructions for a post to participate in this worthwhile project with area merchants prior to Armed Forces Day on May 21. Each kit contains 400 Legacy Cards, a postpaid return envelope, a color poster, a tabletop display, instructions and message points. The Legacy Card kits are free but there is a $5 shipping and handling charge for each kit ordered. To order as many kits as needed:
